As a PT, the past 45+ years have provided amazing experiences in a variety of patient care settings – inpatient, outpatient, home care, SNF’s, as well as assisted living facilities, sports teams and events, and other community settings. I built outpatient facilities with a strong focus around aquatic therapy, and formed partnerships with health organizations. Along the way, I earned board certifications in geriatric and oncology physical therapy, created
support groups, and designed specialty programs to meet community gaps in services.

I have served as adjunct faculty in multiple DPT programs, and I have developed curriculum for PT’s and PTA’s alike, including PT residencies, and serving as a program director for a PTA program. I have had the privilege of serving as an instructor in the APTA Aquatic Academy’s Clinical Competency Certificate program for many years.
Equally important has been my service and commitment to the APTA MI chapter and APTA over the years, serving in a multiple of roles and contributing to multiple Special Interest Groups.

As I move into a new chapter of my life, my goals are simple:

1) Provide educational opportunities for any professional interested in serving the oncology population, preparing clinicians for safe evaluation and effective treatment.
2) Offer resources for therapists, consumers and their families with practical solutions to complex, cancer survivorship problems
3) Open meaningful dialogue and communication between oncology professionals.
